Julian is the writer and creator of Acorn TV’s Emmy™ nominated QUEENS OF MYSTERY, an off-beat, AMÉLIE-esque style take on the traditional world of cosy crime, the second season of which was released on Acorn’s US and Global platforms in 2022 before being sold to dozens of international territories, including Channel 5 in the UK.

Julian has recently completed his tenth consecutive year writing on ITV’s worldwide hit DOC MARTIN and is currently adapting Blaize Clements' best selling Dixie Hemingway novels for ZDF Studios under the title CLEARWATER.

As well as actively developing a number of television projects, Julian is also developing UNKNOWN FEMALE, a feature film script, with Hollywood action director David Leitch (BULLET TRAIN, JOHN WICK, ATOMIC BLONDE) and his Universal Studios backed production company 87North.


Julian is the writer of the multi-award winning Oscar™ short-listed short film LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT starring John Hurt. He has also written for NEW TRICKS and ROBIN HOOD for the BBC, THE BILL for ITV and FAMILY AFFAIRS for C5.

Lena has written on some of the biggest shows on television, as well as working extensively across the industry as a Story Producer and Script Editor. She is currently developing an original crime drama, EXPERT WITNESS, with Poison Pen for ITV.

Lena was one of the first female writers to work on the BBC’s flagship forensic drama SILENT WITNESS, and has to date contributed to three seasons. Her story ‘HOPE’ was voted by viewers as one of the top ten best episodes of all time. She's also written for the hugely popular CALL THE MIDWIFE (BBC).
 

Lena wrote on the last season of Glasgow’s long-running classic crime show TAGGART (STV/ITV). She’s also written for Jimmy McGovern’s MOVING ON (BBC) and penned the season finale of ground-breaking lesbian drama LIP SERVICE (BBC). 

Her original, feature length screenplay, THE CHERISHED ONE, is currently in development with BAFTA award winning director Kate Cheeseman attached (OUTLANDER, CALL THE MIDWIFE, DOC MARTIN).
